Welcome to Pine Spring!

A community of mid-century modern homes on beautifully wooded sites in Fairfax County

The development was originally planned and developed in the early 1950's by Keyes Smith & Saterlee, Architects & Francis D. Lethbridge, Associate and built by Luria Brothers Builders. The houses are grouped around circular drives and along winding roads which follow the natural contours of the land. Existing trees were preserved to the fullest extent possible. Five basic floorplans and twenty variations were designed to take best advantage of the sites.

Original neighborhood literature described it as "Rural in character, but embodying all of the advantages that modern planning can contribute to easy informal living. Pine Spring offers an opportunity for discriminating people of moderate means to own a distinctive, soundly constructed, contemporary home in a setting of carefully preserved natural beauty."

Over the years, Pine Spring has been written about in The Washington Post, House Beautiful, and The Evening Star to great acclaim. The neighbors that live here love the history, clean design, and beauty found in these vintage homes and work to preserve them while upholding the mid-century soul of the home with any renovations.
The Luria Brothers handed each new homeowner a key and a packet to their new home, along with a letter that said "Please find enclosed the key to your new home, and it is our sincere wish that you will find it a key to greater contentment and happiness."

It is our hope, as a Civic Association, that all neighbors, both new and old, are experiencing that contentment and happiness in each of their homes.
